Not sure I agree with #8. Kids know if you're genuinely interested or if "I'm just hanging out with you so you'll report good things back to your dad."

I think some of the stuff would only need to be done if you were not in regular meetings with your senior pastor or the department head. However, there is some value in communicating and connecting with your senior guy when you can. I think that I would suggest more of a relational approach to getting along rather than a systematic approach to getting along. Go out to lunch, share stories and just create a natural relationship.

Yeah, it is a little bit 'suck-up' but there's still good advice in there.
